CARIBBEAN BAKERY

Position: Baker Assistant Attn: Caymanians and/or Permanent Residents Caribbean Bakery is seeking a reliable, physically capable, and motivated Baker Assistant to support daily bakery production operations. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role within a fast-paced commercial bakery environment, requiring consistency, attention to detail, and the ability to meet daily production schedules.

Position Overview

The Baker Assistant supports the preparation and production of a variety of baked goods while maintaining strict quality, hygiene, and food safety standards. The role requires the ability to work efficiently under supervision, perform repetitive physical tasks, and assist in maintaining a clean and organized production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of doughs, batters, fillings, and mixes in accordance with established recipes and production standards
  • Accurately measure and weigh ingredients to ensure consistency and quality
  • Monitor baking processes, including timing, temperature, and product appearance
  • Assist with decorating, finishing, and packaging of baked goods
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all bakery work areas, equipment, and tools
  • Wash and sanitize utensils, trays, and baking equipment as required
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating stock to maintain freshness and minimize waste
  • Support daily production schedules to ensure products are prepared on time
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations
  • Provide support with basic customer service functions when required in a team environment

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous proven experience in a bakery, kitchen, or food production environment is an asset
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions in a structured production setting
  • Basic understanding of baking principles is preferred
  • Food Handler’s Certification is an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with minimal supervision
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and consistent in attendance

Physical & Operational Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to or exceeding 50 lbs on a repetitive basis
  • Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks including mixing, loading trays, and cleaning
  • Comfortable working in a warm bakery environment with exposure to ovens and equipment
  • Ability to maintain productivity during early morning shifts and high-volume production periods

Work Schedule
