Pool and Beach Supervisor

Job Summary

The Pool and Beach Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of all pool and beach facilities, ensuring a clean, and enjoyable environment for guests. The successful candidate will creatively coordinate guest resort activities, whilst supervising service staff, maintaining compliance with safety regulations, and providing exceptional service aligned with Resort’s standards.

Key Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following

  • Enforce facility rules and regulations to prevent accidents whilst maintaining cleanliness and safety in pool and beach areas.
  • Conduct regular inspections of pool, beach, chemical readings and equipment plus additionally report and coordinate maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure that meals are being served in a professional and timely manner by circulating within the outlet and communicating with the kitchen and the order takers. Ensure that standards are met on pool & beach. Handle guest complaints. Monitor and supervise set up and maintenance of Tortuga, Pool & Beach area to ensure that it is up to standard.
  • Attend meetings and conduct ongoing training of employees to ensure that employees continue to improve their performance.
  • Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and guest satisfaction.
  • Assist in the completion of reports on production and necessary requisitions. Assist in regulation of distribution of necessary supplies.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond to guest requests/concerns promptly.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of daily occupancy, VIPs in-house, arrivals/departures, all hotel facilities and services, and hours of operation for each F&B outlet.
  • Coordinate daily operations, special events, and recreational activities in the pool and beach areas.
  • Obtain clean towels from Laundry and transport them to the pool deck; fold and stack towels.
  • Organize pool deck and beach areas (with furniture, towels and umbrella etc.) in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure trash and debris are removed from all work areas and pool facilities.
  • Check pool restrooms and throughout the shift for supply levels, cleanliness, working order and report as needed.
  • Utilize first aid and lifesaving procedures when situations demand.
  • Provide direct service to guests as needed, including, but not limited to, serving tables, bussing tables, seating guests, general clerical/cashier duties, assisting guest with chairs and umbrellas on pool & beach, clearing & organizing equipment on pool & beach.
  • Ensure availability of manpower, supplies, and equipment to ensure positive guest experience. Assist in hiring, scheduling, supervision and control of servers, food runner, beach& pool ambassadors & beach & pool maintenance.
  • Other duties may be assigned based on business needs.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum 3–4 years’ Luxury Hospitality Pool and Beach Supervisor and Food & Beverage experience required.
  • Hospitality Degree a plus a minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must possess strong computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Proven knowledge of food and alcoholic beverages required.
  • Required ability to prepare and analyze data, figures and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer.
  • Strong knowledge of beach safety, maintenance techniques, and guest service experience in a resort environment.
  • Ability to effectively interact with guests, must possess strong communications skills, which may require high levels of tact, and diplomacy, gather accurate information, and resolve conflicts.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods while continuously performing job functions.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry items weighing over 50 lbs.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English, the primary language used in the workplace.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask while being goal- and results-oriented.
  • Knowledge of food service techniques and cost controls such as manpower, productivity, food cost and other expenses required.
  • Must be flexible to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends and public holidays.
