Job Description

The Line Cook is in charge of prepping food, operating kitchen equipment to cook and prepare high quality meals, and plating dishes according to the restaurant’s menu specifications. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and multi-tasking skills, and will play an essential role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and restaurant growth.

Key Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following

  • Preparing basic components of menu dishes following established recipes .
  • Ensure preparation stations and the kitchen are set up and properly stocked
  • Prepare components of menu dishes by chopping vegetables, cutting meats, and preparing sauces
  • Ensure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards
  • keep prep areas clean and tidy at all times
  • Properly handling and preserving food products at correct temparatures
  • Maintaing personal hygeine and adhering to uniform standards
  • Stock inventory and supplies
  • Cook menu items according to menu specifications and plate accordingly
  • Collaborating with other cooks to complete prep work for different shifts.
  • Maintaining kitchen equipment and promptly reporting any malfunctions.
  • Checking expiry dates and ensuring proper storage of food items
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements/Experience

  • Minimum 3 years experience in high volume kitchen with culinary experience
  • Knowledge in all areas including grill/line and cold station
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaing cailmness and professionalism
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks
  • In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods
  • Role requires working evenings, weekends, and some holidays
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
