Job Description

The Opportunity / Who We Seek We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Vice President ("AVP") to join our Group Risk team as part of our financial services business headquartered in the Cayman Islands. The AVP will support the Group Risk function in the ongoing development and execution of risk management strategies across the Maples Group globally, covering both our financial services and legal business lines, including the diligent oversight and enhancement of our incident management programme. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in risk management who are looking to further develop their skills and experience within a dynamic, global environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of the enterprise risk management framework, with a particular focus on operational risk.
  • Assist in the identification, assessment, and monitoring of risks across the Group, working closely with senior team members and business units.
  • Contribute to the preparation of risk reports, risk committee materials, and other documentation to support risk governance and oversight.
  • Help ensure that risk management policies, procedures, and controls are adhered to and remain compliant with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
  • Participate in risk deep dives, both on a scheduled (e.g. annual) and ad hoc (trigger event) basis, by gathering data, conducting analysis, and preparing findings for review.
  • Support the execution of risk mitigation and identification procedures, including the validation of controls and follow-up on action items.
  • Engage with colleagues across all lines of defence to promote a strong risk culture and facilitate the effective management of risk.
  • Assist in the delivery of risk training and awareness initiatives across the Group.
  • Provide administrative and project support to the Group Risk team as required.
  • Provide diligent oversight, management, and analysis of the Group's incident management programme, ensuring timely escalation, root‑cause evaluation, remediation tracking, and the targeted training and improvement recommendations.

What You Bring

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in risk management, compliance, or internal audit within a financial services or legal environment is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and present findings clearly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions.
  • High ethical standards, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with risk management systems or tools is an advantage.
  • A willingness to learn and develop within the risk management profession.
