RENEE ANTOINETTE RANKING T/A MELTING POT CUISINE - A food and beverage server on a mobile smoothie truck performs a hybrid role that combines traditional hospitality with specialized mobile kitchen operations. Unlike a standard restaurant, this role requires managing the unique challenges of a compact, high-paced, and mobile environment.
Greet customers warmly, provide menu recommendations based on dietary preferences, and answer questions about ingredients. Accurately process payments using a Point of Sale (POS) system and handle cash or digital transactions. Promote daily specials and up-sell items like protein boosters, snacks, smoothies, parfait, natural juices, and natural desserts, to increase the average transaction value.
Prepare fresh smoothies, juices, smoothie bowls, and parfaits according to specific recipes and quality standards and customer requests. Maintain consistency in drink texture and flavour and quality through precise measurement and blending techniques. Manage multiple orders simultaneously while ensuring high-speed service during peak rush hours.
Assist in the daily setup and breakdown of the truck, including deploying window awnings, setting up signage, and securing equipment for transit. Conduct inventory checks and restock ingredients like frozen fruit, dairy/plant-based milks, and garnishes, and fresh ingredients throughout the shift. Help notify customers of the truck’s real-time location via social media updates if requested by the owner.
Deep-clean and sanitize all food-contact surfaces, blenders, and utensils after each use and every hour to meet health department standards. Monitor refrigeration and freezer temperatures (ideally, to prevent ingredient spoilage). Keep the service window and surrounding exterior area clean, organized, and inviting for customers.
Customer service skills, literate, financial literacy, food and juice preparation, food handling certification, janitorial knowledge in restaurant and commercial cleaning. Agility and ability to move quickly. Work as part of a team, and must be a self starter
Certification, Food Handler’s Permit (required by local health departments). Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long shifts in a confined, sometimes hot or vibrating slightly cramped space. Lift up to 50lbs Pace & Temperament High energy with the ability to remain "cool" and friendly under the pressure of long queues. Technical Ability Proficiency with commercial-grade blenders, kitchen and juice making equipment and digital payment systems.
