We are currently seeking a highly skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our growing team. We are looking for a master of their craft. The Carpenter will be responsible for a wide range of woodwork, structural framing, and finishing tasks. With at least a decade of experience, you will be expected to read complex blueprints, execute precise cuts, lead by example on the job site, and ensure all work meets our high quality standards and local building codes. Duties and Responsibilities Blueprint Execution: Read, interpret, and follow architectural drawings, blueprints, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements. Structural & Finish Carpentry: Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboards. This includes framing, roofing, drywall, molding, trim, doors, and custom cabinetry. Measurement & Preparation: Accurately measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery. Quality Control: Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures, ensuring perfect alignment and finish. Site Safety: Maintain a clean, safe work environment, strictly adhering to all occupational health and safety regulations. Mentorship: Provide guidance and supervision to junior carpenters and laborer apprentices on site. Skills and Qualifications Experience: A minimum of 10 years of proven, professional experience as a Carpenter in both rough and finish carpentry. Technical Skills: Expert proficiency with modern carpentry tools, equipment, and materials. Mathematical Aptitude: Strong basic math skills for accurate measurements and material estimations. Physical Stamina: Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, lift heavy materials (up to 50+ lbs), and work in various weather conditions common to the Caribbean. Detail-Oriented: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering flawless finishes. Communication: Fluent in English with the ability to communicate effectively with site managers, clients, and team members. Compensation and Benefits Hourly Wage: CI$12.00 per hour (minimum) Pension, Health Insurance and Vacation.
