Job Description

A personal employer is seeking an experienced Household Manager to oversee the care of an elderly couple and the smooth running of their household. The role requires 24/7 vigilance, exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership, ensuring the principals feel consistently supported, cared for and in the safest, most capable hands. Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the team: Recruit, train, schedule, coach and support staff, ensuring reliable cover, clear accountability and consistently high standards.
  • Manage daily life: Coordinate meals, appointments, travel, household routines and personal needs with care, foresight and attention to detail.
  • Coordinate medical care: Organise appointments, hospital stays and returns home, ensuring every detail is handled calmly, thoughtfully and seamlessly.
  • Care for possessions: Maintain accurate inventories and oversee the care of everything from art and antiques to clothing and everyday personal belongings, working with appropriate specialists when required.
  • Manage wardrobes: Ensure clothing and accessories are expertly cared for, organised, maintained and ready whenever needed.
  • Build reliable systems: Document household procedures clearly and establish robust systems so that tasks are completed consistently and the home runs smoothly, even when someone is away.
  • Embed Transformation in everyday work: Stay grounded in the work of Transformation and treat your own development as never finished. Hold the team to the same standard, kindly but without letting it slide. Make ordinary household tasks opportunities to practise integrity, responsibility and care for others, and use dropped promises and mistakes as opportunities for accountability, learning and breakthrough.
  • Anticipate and resolve: Identify needs before they arise, address problems proactively and ensure that the household is prepared for both the expected and the unexpected.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • 10 + years experience managing a private household, luxury residence, or similarly complex environment.
  • Proven experience with Transformational education methods, leading, developing and managing teams to consistently high standards in private households.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive mindset, with the ability to anticipate needs and resolve problems before they arise.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, with the ability to hold high standards while treating people with warmth and respect.
  • Calm, practical judgement and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies and unexpected situations.
  • High levels of integrity, discretion, reliability and personal accountability.
  • Experience with inventories, asset management, household systems and specialist vendors.
  • Flexibility and commitment to ensuring appropriate household coverage and support at all times.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time role within a private household requiring 24/7 vigilance and a high level of responsibility.
  • Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays and urgent situations.
  • Must be calm, dependable and able to respond quickly to unexpected changes or emergencies.
  • Requires the highest standards of discretion, confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Hands-on leadership role requiring close coordination with household staff, vendors and service providers.
  • Strong commitment to ensuring the principals are always cared for, supported and protected.
