We are accepting applications for the following position

KITCHEN STEWARD/ GENERAL HELPER

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Kitchen Steward / General Helper to support the daily operations of our resort on Cayman Brac. This hands-on role involves a combination of kitchen sanitation, food handling, general maintenance, and farm-related duties. The ideal candidate will be flexible, detail-oriented, and capable of working in both indoor and outdoor environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform a variety of tasks including cultivating soil, planting, weeding, irrigating, and harvesting crops using hand tools and powered equipment.
  • Carry out strenuous manual labor to maintain the resort’s farm and garden areas.
  • Maintain crops by watering, weeding, and harvesting as needed.
  • Safely operate and maintain all farming and kitchen equipment, report malfunctions promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, ensuring proper safety protocols and cleaning schedules are followed at all times.
  • Monitor inventory of supplies and recommend orders or repairs to management.
  • Sweep, mop, and polish kitchen and back-of-house areas.
  • Wash, clean, and polish kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding food handling, sanitation, and storage standards.
  • Follow proper procedures for receiving and storing food products.
  • Maintain purchases, receiving, and food storage standards.
  • Follow correct food handling procedures and ensure proper temperature control.
  • Assist with other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a similar role within a luxury resort, farm, or high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Fluent in English language – oral and written
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with good organizational and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks under time constraints.
  • Must maintain a professional image and demonstrate good communication skills
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Satisfactory police clearance

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to stand throughout a shift and walk through all areas of the farm, hotel facility, and kitchen.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • May be exposed to a humid and hot environment. Temperatures will vary at any given time.
  • Frequent standing, bending, walking, and lifting required.
