Job Description

Imagine Cayman T/A Sandbar is currently looking for an outgoing Bartender to work to keep guests entertained while expertly preparing their preferred beverages. Aside from possessing showmanship and knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer and wine, Bartenders must be able to interact effectively with guests and all levels of employees. It is the duty of the Employee to perform all essential job functions and duties of a Bartender. From time to time, the Employer may also add other duties within the reasonable scope of the Employee’s position, such duties may include but will not be limited to;

Proper Attendance and Attire

  • Check Schedule Daily to Make sure you are aware of what shifts you are scheduled for and show up to your shift

Arrive 10 minutes before the start of your shift Sick or Tardy Sick call requires 8 hours minimum notice to any manager o Two or more consecutive sick calls will require a doctor’s note to advise returning to work to resume responsibilities Tardiness requires notice to any manager via text, call or email Uniform A neat, clean uniform is required upon starting each shift Only an approved uniform will be worn during each shift

Bar Services

  • Cleanliness The bars, both inside and out, always need to be clean and tidy per company standards

Practice proper hygiene techniques and food handling per DEH standards Inventory o Assist in counting inventory on all bar products weekly or as often as company needs Ensure proper techniques are used behind the bar to deter overpouring and theft Cocktail Knowledge and Preparation Knowledgeable of classic cocktails and cocktail preparations Aid in cocktail menu creation when needed Practice safe alcohol beverage practices

Servicing the Guest

  • Acknowledge all guests in a friendly, sincere manner as they enter and leave the establishment (APPRECIATE REPEAT GUESTS)
  • Know your product! Answer enquires, use suggestive selling to promote food, cigar, merchandise and premium and packaged alcohol sales
  • Take orders and service guests at the bar (or tables when appropriate)
  • Promote a fun atmosphere by entertaining guests at your bar (or tables when appropriate)

NOTE: Bartenders and Management are the only authorized staff to pour drinks from the bar

Sandbar Duties Continued

  • Count Opening Float
  • Turn on daiquiri machines (if not on already), fill them as needed and ensure they are running properly
  • Prepare the par daiquiri mix needed that day for each flavor
  • Replace floor mats, pour mats on bar & mesh upon opening
  • Set up well with proper alcohol, juice and salt rim
  • Fill ice wells with ice
  • Set up dishwashing station, check detergent levels
  • Clean garnish tray (if it hasn’t been done the previous night), dispose of bad fruit and cut fresh fruit
  • Refill straws and napkins
  • Wipe bar top clean
  • Restock fridges as needed
  • Arrange and properly clean and wipe all bar stools
  • Place liquor in correct order to ensure efficiency
  • Make sure roll-ups and set-ups are ready for service
  • Ensure daily cleaning duties are completed
  • Empty bus pans and garbage cans
  • Wipe down bar tops and bar stools
  • Remove bar stools and place in appropriate area to store overnight • Wipe down kegerators inside and outside, the spill tray and clear drains.
  • Restock all fridges with proper items
  • Lock all fridges and kegerators • Close shutters and properly lock them
  • Clean floor mats, bar mats and mesh.
  • Clean daiquiri machines properly according to company standards
  • Wipe down all stainless steel
  • Clean three sink wash and glass wash area
  • Perform end of shift cash out
  • Batch CC machine at the end of the night
