Line Cook Team Member Job Description Summary: The ultimate goal of the Line Cook Team Member is to create “Raving Fan Customers”. This position is critical to the success of the entire restaurant. You will work with others in a fast-paced environment to consistently produce the highest quality product possible in the shortest possible length of time. You will report directly to the Kitchen Management team and will work along with the entire kitchen staff to collectively help make our restaurants the best on the island!
Your primary responsibility will be to work as a cooperative and supportive team player. Your goal, along with the rest of the kitchen staff, will be to consistently prepare, produce and deliver the highest quality of product by following recipes to their exact specification in the shortest possible time.
Preparing all menu items Menu specialty development Receiving, inspecting and storing deliveries Storing all food items properly Continuously cleaning and maintaining a spotless work area Ensuring all par levels are attained Performing any prep work that may be required Maintaining all standard hygiene practices Competently working in every station when required to do so Kitchen equipment cleaning and maintenance Maintain safe and secure work practices Handle all food appropriately to avoid any type of potential contamination Identify and properly dispose of food which is unfit for consumption Assisting other staff members when and wherever possible and/or required Any other task that may be required subject to the nature of business
Due to the wide range of responsibilities, we require all candidates to have some restaurant kitchen experience. You will be required to attend the C.I. Government’s Sanitation Seminar, even if you already have a certificate in this area. The ideal candidate will be professional, reliable, creative, fun and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
This position requires maintaining flexibility in regards to scheduling including availability during weekends, holidays and evenings. Line Cooks will be required to work long hours and perhaps a split-shift schedule – several hours during the day and then again at night.
