The Accountant will provide financial and management reporting, forecasting and project analysis along with providing insightful information to the management of our Construction division. The position reports to the CFO and will be responsible for performing the day-to-day financial activities. This is an office-based position.
Posting of accounting system entries as needed for the preparation of month-end accounts, including but not limited to depreciation, amortization, loan interest, etc. Prepare Monthly / Quarterly P&L and Balance Sheets using information from the accounting software which is presently QuickBooks. The accounting software is subject to change. Preparing the Board Reporting package including Balance Sheet and P&L for the CFO. Responsible for the day-to-day aspects of finance within Construction division. Review Project Cost Reporting prepared by the Quantity Surveyor and agree to the management accounting records. Understand Construction Contracts and bill out work to customers. Calculate and respond to queries from management. Build relationships and collaborate with the construction team. Identify and suggest process improvements to the current financial processes. Taking ownership of allocated system improvement initiatives. Prepare vendor payment runs and process online payments using banking software. Reconcile Debtor and Creditor Accounts. Oversee / Perform Payroll and Wage Payments. Oversee a financial team of two based in the Construction office, as well as working remotely with the offshore team. Review and prepare Bank Reconciliations. Ensure timesheets are completed by all staff on the timesheet system. Additional tasks as allocated by CFO and Executive Management.
